- 6. If no further cutting is to be done immediately
afterwards, turn the saw OFF.
TABLE SAW MODE
SAFETY DEVICES
- Blade guard (Fig.12) The blade guard (3)
protects against accidental contact with the saw
blade and from chips flying about. Always have
the blade guard installed during operation.
- Riving knife (Fig.12) The riving knife (2) pre-
vents the work piece from being caught by the
rising teeth of the saw blade and being thrown
against the operator. Always have the riving
knife installed during operation.
- Lower blade guard (Fig.12) The lower blade
guard (14) protects against accidental contact
with the saw blade. The Safety blade guard
must always be installed while the machine is in
operation.
- Push stick (Fig.17&18) The push stick (24)
serves as an extension of the hand and protects
against accidental contact with the saw blade
- Always use the push stick if the distance
between saw blade and rip fence is less than
120mm.
- Guide the push stick at an angle of 20° to 30°
against the saw table's surface.
- Replace push stick if damaged.
SETTING UP
- DANGER! Before the machine is set up (Fig.12
& Fig.13):
- turn machine OFF,
- unplug;
- wait until the machine has come to a complete
stop.
- 1 Swing sawhead up.
- 2 Set mitre table into the 0° position and tighten
the lock screw.
- 3 It is a must to attach the lower blade guard
securely in position, ensuring that switch B (29)
activates.
- 4 Swing the sawhead down and lock it.
- 5 Remove the rip fence (4) from blade guard.
DANGER
- Before starting work, check to see that the
following are in proper working order.
- Riving knife;
- Safety blade guard;
- Blade guard;
- Push stick.
- Use personal protection gear
- Dust respirator:
- Hearing protection;
- Safety goggles.
- Assume proper operating position:
- At the front of the saw;
- In front of the saw;
- To the left of the line of cut;
- When working with two persons, the other
person must remain at an adequate distance to
the saw.
- If the type of work requires, use the following:
- Work support – for long stock, which would oth-
erwise fall off the table on completion of the cut;
- Dust collector.
- Always hold the work piece down on the table
and do not jam it.
- Do not attempt to stop the saw blade by pushing
the work piece against its side. Risk of injury if
the saw blade is blocked.
SAWING
- DANGER! Always use a push stick if dis-
tance D of cutting piece is less than 120mm
(Fig.17)
- 1. The blade guard must rest with its front edge
on the work piece.
- 2. If necessary install the rip fence with the lock
screw pointing towards you, the operator.
- 3. Set the rip fence to the desired cutting width.
Check on both scales of the upper saw table
that the rip fence is parallel with the saw blade.
- 4. Start saw blade by activating the 'on' switch
(7).
- 5. Push the work piece in a steady motion
towards the rear and cut in a single pass.
- 6. Turn machine OFF if no further cutting will be
done immediately afterwards by activating 'off'
switch (7).

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

- DANGER! Prior to all servicing;
- 1. turn the machine OFF,
- 2. unplug,
- 3. wait until the machine has come to a com-
plete stop.
- Repair and maintenance work other than de-
scribed in this section should only be carried out
by qualified specialists.
- Replace defective parts, especially of safety de-
vices, only with OEM replacement parts. Parts
not tested and approved by the manufacturer
