1 Safety notes
Used B-SAFE universal filters may not be re-used.
For hygienic reasons disposable gloves must always
be worn when installing the filter.
The B-SAFE universal filter is not suited for installing
in sterile areas of a hospital.
The regulations of existing hygiene plans must be
observed.
Important notes
Biofilms containing legionella may be present in
the shower hose and shower head. Before initially
installing a B-SAFE universal safety filter, the down-
stream shower hose and shower head must be
replaced with new products, as otherwise protection
from legionella bacteria cannot be ensured.
The B-SAFE universal filter must not be the only
protection against legionella in shower water in
legionella contaminated water distribution systems.
In addition to the B-SAFE universal filter, a water
treatment process for disinfecting must be integrated
in legionella contaminated water heating systems to
kill legionella in the entire water distribution system.
Change the filter following longer stagnation times.
If showers equipped with a B-SAFE universal filter
have not been used for longer periods of time (2
weeks) for example, due to holidays and hotel or
hospital rooms not being occupied, a new filter must
be installed before showering for the first time, as
otherwise protection from legionella bacteria can-
not be ensured.
