Setting the position indicator with an offset

On a measurement bay with an offset, the "SCT 1"
and "SCT 2" position indicators are used. A measu-
rement bay with an offset means that the vehicle
(Abb. 9, item 2) rests on a lift or leveling surface (off
the ground) (Abb. 9, item 4) and the DAS 800/1000
(VAS 6430) (Abb. 9, item 3) rests on a different surface
(Abb. 9, item 1), usually the ground. The offset value
(Abb. 9, item 5) is the height of the lift or leveling sur-
face.

5 Offset value to be measured
1. Measure the height of the lift or leveling surface.
 The measured height is the offset.
2. Slide the "SCT 1" position indicator (Abb. 10, item
2) to the measured offset value on the scale on the
position indicator (Abb. 10, item 4) and secure it.

3. Subtract the measured offset value from 400 mm:
400 mm – offset value = x
