1.- USE AS GROUP 0 - 1 REAR FACING POSITION
Use as group 0 -1 rear facing position, for children weighing up to
18 kg., (from 0 months up to 4 years approx.).
The PROTECT safety seat for group 0-1 rear facing, must be
installed IN THE REAR FACING POSITION.
It should preferably be installed on rear seats and never on seats
fitted with a frontal Air-Bag. The PROTECT seat should be in the
fully reclined positions (see point 5 on adjusting the backrest).
1a Fasten the 3-point seat belt of the vehicle. Recline the seat and
pull out the lever (3) located under the base. (2).
1b Place the car seat in the seat of the car. It must touch the back
of the seat of the car and be supported by the lever and the
back of the base. Open the shoulder belt clip (19).
1c The shoulder strap of the seat belt of the car must be passed
behind the car seat and inserted into the two slots on the
backrest of the car seat. (13)
1d Pass the waist strap of the car seat belt through the slots on the
base. (14)
Tighten the belt manually and check that the car seat is
securely fastened by pulling it.
2.- USE AS A GROUP 1 CAR SEAT
For babies between 9 and 18 kg (from 9 months to 4 years
approximately).
The PROTECT car seat for group 1 must be used as a forward-
facing seat, preferably in the back seat of the car and never in
seats fitted with airbags.
THE FORWARD-FACING POSITION IS TOTALLY DISCOURAGED
FOR BABIES WEIGHING LESS THAN 9 KG.1C
2a The lever(3) must be folded and the PROTECT seat in its most re-
clined position (see point 5 for adjusting the backrest).
2b Pass the buckle of the 3-point seat belt of the vehicle between
the base and the seat and fasten it.
2c Pass the seat belt shoulder strap of the vehicle through the slot
in the tightening device (10) and the red ring (11) on the top part
of the seat, only on the side opposite the buckle of the vehicle.
2d Press the PROTECT against the seat of the car and tighten the
seat belt of the car manually.
3.- SECURING THE BABY IN THE SEAT
3a Loosen the harness by pulling from the shoulder straps while
pressing the release button. (8)
3b Unfasten the buckle. (6)
3c Make sure that you position the foam (17) cushion if the baby
is in the 0 group and uses the lowest shoulder strap position.
3d Place the baby in the car seat ensuring that he/she is sitting
up straight against the backrest of the car seat.
Bring the top ends of the buckles together.
3e Insert them into the clasp and press until you hear a click.
3f Tighten the shoulder straps and pull the tightening strap. (9)
