5. Maintenance Instructions

Because the test pumps work with practically no wear, no special
maintenance is required. This does require, however, that a clean
filling medium low in acid be used. You must also make certain
that none of the pressure limits are exceeded while tests are being
performed. To ensure that the seals and bearings of the test pump
are not subjected to excessive stress, a continuous operating
pressure of 250 bar should not be exceeded for pump C1360.
Pump C1361 should not be operated above 250 bar in the low-
pressure range and 1000 bar in the high-pressure range.

6. Cause of fault

If the pressure cannot be generated correctly or if the set

pressure does not remain stable, this is likely to be caused by
incorrectly positioned sealing gaskets or by using the wrong
ones. Please also check whether any adapters used on the test
connections have been tightened sufficiently.
Leaks in the connected peripheral measuring equipment can
■
result in loss of medium for the test pumps. To ensure problem-
free operation, the test pump must generally be refilled with the
appropriate medium. A storage container is also available for
use as an accessory.
If the pressure of 250 bar (low-pressure spindle) or 1000 bar
■
(high-pressure spindle) is not reached when the spindle is
turned all the way clockwise to the stop, either there are too
many air pockets in the system or the internal test pump
volume is insufficient. To reach the full test pressures, in the first
case the pump should be refilled with medium as described in
4.3 or, in the second case, a storage container should be used
as described in 4.4.
By no means apply any force to the operating elements of the

hand test pump.
