correctly.
- Check that the disc (8) is in a raise position.
- Stop the machine by moving the ON/OFF
switch (3) to "0".
- Pull the plug (1) out of the socket.
After you have finished working on the machine
it should be stored in a dry place to which
unauthorised persons have no access.
Working with the chainsaw sharpener
Whilst using the machine you must obey the
following instructions:
1. Place the chain in the guide (12) (B7).
2. Undo the locking screws (11) for the grinding
angle (B8). Set a grinding angle of 30° – 35° and
tighten the locking screw (11) again (B9).
Increasing the angle to 30°-35° will increase the
angle of the teeth and will thus produce a better
cut.
If you use this method, less material will have
to be removed since increasing the angle of the
teeth also increases their fragility. This may result
in an increased risk that the chain will break.
3. Secure the chain using the adjustable chain
stop (14) by closing it in front of the chain link
you want to sharpen (B10).
4. Move the chain and the grinding disc (8) to a
level where you can use the adjusting screw (15)
for the stop (B11).
5. Tighten the chain slightly with the locking
screw for the chain guide (13) (B12).
6. Set the sharpening depth using the adjusting
screw (7) (B13).
7. Sharpen the chain evenly on one side. Press
24
the handle (2) towards the chain link for this
purpose (B14). Do not overload the grinding
disc. Exert as little pressure as necessary.
IMPORTANT. The position of the chain may only
be changed when the machine has reached a
standstill.
8. Grind all the teeth of the same type before
you change the angle (10) to 30°-35° on the
opposite side.
9. To prevent damaging the chain teeth you
should only remove as little material as possible
and keep the working time on each tooth to a
minimum. The maximum material that may be
removed from each tooth varies from chain to
chain and can therefore not be specified. This
information is provided by the chain
manufacturer (refer to the instructions provided
by the chain manufacturer).
Finally sharpen the chain's depth limit using a
flat steel file (B15).
The tools required for sharpening the chain's
depth stop are available from any DIY store and
are therefore not supplied.
Disc replacement
When the disc (8) becomes worn (max. 30
mm wear) or if it does not run true, it must be
replaced.
Only use grinding discs which comply with FEPA
standards, have a diameter of 100 mm and are
designed for a minimum idling speed of 7500
rpm.
Proceed as follows to replace the grinding disc
(8):
1. Take the plug (1) out of the socket.
2. Remove the disc guard (9) by undoing the 2
Philips screws using a screwdriver (B16- B18 ).
