Audio stream
With digital radio, audio streams are continuous data streams which contain the MPEG 1
audio layer 2 frames and thereby represent acoustic information. This enables standard radio
channels to be broadcast and listened to on the receiver side. Digital radio uses the MUSICAM
format with two MPEG-compliant PADs for additional information. These are also known as PAD
data services. Digital radio provides you with not only radio in excellent sound quality but also
additional information. The information may be about the current programme (e.g. title and
artist) or something else (e.g. news, weather, traffic and tips). To do so, please refer to Section
Improving antenna reception in this instruction manual.

DAB/DAB+

To start DAB+ playback, press the MODE button until [DAB Radio] appears on the

display.

Station search (auto)

> To restart scanning, open the menu by pressing the MENU button.
Now use the up/down arrow keys to select the [Full Scan] menu item and confirm the

selection by pressing the ENTER button.
Alternatively:
Press the SCAN button.

Then scanning starts over all transponders. The scan progress is shown on the display.

Check signal strength / manual station search

To check the signal strength of a station, press the MENU button.

Now use the up/down arrow keys to select the menu item [Manual setting] and

confirm the selection by pressing the ENTER button.
Now select a receiving transponder with the up/down arrow keys and press the ENTER
>
button. The signal strength is shown on the display. If stations are available there that
are not yet stored in the station list, they are now saved. You can exit by repeatedly
pressing the MENU button.
