6 Preparing the device for use

6.1 Improving the antenna reception

The number and quality of the stations to be received depends on the reception conditions in
the installation location. Excellent reception can be achieved with the DAB / FM aerial antenna.
The aerial antenna must be extended to full length and positioned for best reception.
> Pull out the telescopic antenna.
Exact alignment of the telescopic antenna is often important, in particular on the
outskirts of the DAB+ reception area. You can quickly find the location of the nearest
transmission tower on the Internet by visiting www.dabplus.de.
Start the first scan at a window in the direction of the transmission mast if possible.
If the weather conditions are poor, DAB+ reception may be limited.
Do not touch the telescopic antenna during station playback. This could compromise
the reception and lead to sound dropouts.

6.2 Inserting the batteries

> Open the battery compartment of the remote control by pushing the lid in the direction
of the printed arrow (1).
> Insert a battery (AAA, 1.5V) into the battery compartment. Pay attention to the correct
polarity (2).
> Close the battery compartment (3).
Remove the battery if you are not going to use the remote for a long time to prevent it
from leaking. Replace an empty battery in good time.
