Installing the sensors

Guidelines when installing sensors
Dos and Don'ts on where to install the sensor.
Figure 3:
No obstructions (consider seasonal changes). Avoid strong
light. Avoid splashing the unit. Avoid unstable ground.
Figure 4:
Calculating beam expansion (B).
(A= protection distance) The beam spread of each model type
must be considered in order to avoid potential reflection from
the ground surface or nearby objects.

Figure 5:
Recommended installation height.
Wiring the system
Connect power to both the transmitter and receiver. The wiring
depends on the number of sensors or zones. Wire size also
depends on the distance between the sensor and the control
panel/power source. The wiring must comply with NFPA-70 of
the National Electrical Code.
Caution:
The signal output on the receiver cannot be used
independently for the upper/lower optics, only as a set.
Outdoor wiring should be in PVC if used below ground or use a
burial cable. Use conduit for above-ground wiring.
Figure 6:
Examples of wiring.
Example 1: Standard connection.
Example 2: When two or more sensors are connected on the
same zone.
Example 3: When two or more sensors are on separate zones.
Example 4: Two-stacked standard connection.
Example 5: When the environmental module and manual alarm
memory are used.
Refer to the section Function descriptions for selecting the
beam frequency.
Figure 7:
Wiring distance between the sensor and the control
panel (m).
Note:
The maximum wiring distance when two or more sets
are connected is the value shown divided by the number of
sets.
Note:
The signal line can be wired up to approximately 1000 m
with AWG22 (diameter 0.65 mm) telephone wire.
Standby battery:
Be sure that the control panel is equipped
with an adequate standby battery and charging circuit. Use 12
V (at least) NiCd or lead acid battery with a minimum capacity
of 0.5 AH.
Arranging the terminals
See Figure 8.

Mounting the units
The units can be easily mounted on a pole or flat surface.
Using the adjustment dial and screws, adjust the mirrors
vertically (A) and horizontally (B) so that the unit can work in all
directions (figure 9). See examples 1-3.
Installing a wall-mounted unit
1.
Remove the cover by unscrewing the screw at the base of
the cover (figure 10).
