2. Proper use

The plasma welding torch ABIPLAS
for industrial and commercial use in protective gas welding using inert or
active gases and may only be operated by qualified personnel.
For joint welding it can be used in all the standard welding positions.
The plasma welding torch is a liquid-cooled welding torch.
Its operation requires the use of a welding current source with integrated
cooling unit or a separate cooling unit.
The voltage rating of the manually guided plasma-powder welding torch has a
peak value of 113 V, the voltage rating in the case of the mechanically gui-
ded plasma-powder welding torch has a peak value of 141 V.
In the case of the manually guided plasma powder welding torch the connec-
tions on the machine side must comply with protection type IP3X and in the
case of the mechanically guided plasma powder welding torch IP2-X accor-
ding to EN 60 529.
The welding torch should only be operated using original ABICOR BINZEL
spare parts.
The operator must ensure that the plasma welding torch and welding
device comply with the EC Directive EMC (89/336/EEC).
The plasma welding torch is exclusively intended for the application described
above. Any use beyond that is prohibited.
Proper use also requires adherence to the operation, servicing and maintenance
conditions as set by the manufacturer.
The guarantee does not cover consumables or damage due to overloading or
improper handling.
Unauthorized conversions and modifications are prohibited for reasons of
safety and liability.
The tasks described in these operating instructions are explained in a way,
which can only be performed by qualified personnel.
According to the definitions found in EN-60204-1:
Qualified personnel are....
.... persons who, based on their special training, knowledge,
experience and due to their knowledge of the relevant standards,
are able to assess the tasks assigned to them and identify possi-
ble dangers.
