heat. Typically, actro motors warm up to 40-50°C, not more. Nevertheless, in doubt check the temperature or ask us for critical oper-
ation conditions of your motor.
The propeller adapters
There are several acessories with different mechanisms to fix the propellers on actro12-40, Compact. All adapters are to be mounted
at the front bearing part of the actro12-40 motor, respectively on the rear side of the actro Compact motors, with screws that will be
specified in the following. For a precise fit of the adapters they have a mating surface inside to fit the outstanding part at the motors
front bearing part.
For the mounting of the propeller on actro60, the enclosed adapter is recommended. It will be fixed by four M4x12 screws at the front
bearing shield of the motor. For a precise fit of the adapter they have a mating surface that fits into the shield of the motor
The adapter is equiped with a fluting. It supports the secure fit of the propeller. The adapter is formed to lead air into the motor axis.
Therefore, the application of a right rotating propeller is required. The propeller has to cover the complete adapter diameter in order
to form parts of the air flow channel.
A 10mm fitting centres the propeller. The propeller can be mounted differently:
Central M8-screw with washer

Take care, that the M8 screw can be turned 20mm into the inner thread of the adapter. Otherwise, in case of extremely strong at-
traction torques, the inner thread of the adapter can be damaged.
Fourfold direct hub mounting

The propeller can be fixed by means of four M4 screws which are equally distributed on a circle of 30mm diameter. The adapter
can be used as drilling template to place the required holes correctly. Thereto, fix the adapter at the propeller by use of the M8
central screw. Use a 3,3mm drill to mark the four holes at the propeller. Dismount the adapter. Drill now through the propeller with
a 4-4,1mm drill. Take care to use M4 screws with the correct length of around 6mm free thread length. They must be shorter than
7mm free thread length. Otherwise they will push agains the front ball bearing which can be damaged! Furthermore, don't use
screws with a free thread length shorter than 5mm. A too short screw can be tightened to strong, thus the M4 thread of the shield
can be damaged.
Propeller fixing with central M8-thread normal and M8-thread extra large (not for actro60
and Heli)
These adapters are the most versalite to use. They have a 8.0mm centering shaft with a M8-thread and a M3 internal thread. Propel-
lers as well as adapters for foldering propellers with a 8mm hole can be fixed with a M8-nut. To extend the bearing area of the pro-
peller the propeller disk accessory part is recommended. The propeller fixing with central M8-thread has to be mounted with the
supplied M3x8 sink screws. In combination with the propeller disk the supplied M3x10 sink screws have to be used.
actro 5mm shaft (not for actro60 and Heli)
This adapter makes actro appear like a usual motor with a 5mm shaft. All usual available propeller adapters designed for 5mm shafts
can be applied. The actro 5mm shaft is to be mounted with supplied M3x8 sink screws. The free length of the shaft is 36mm, the
over-all-length is 40mm.
In every case you have to take care that the screws can't be screwed more than 4.0 mm into the front bearing part of the
motor. The copper windings inside could be damaged!
Connection of actro and actronic
To connect the motor to the controller you have to procede according to the operation manual of the controller. Our guarantee for
actro is only valid if an actronic controller is used. Other controllers are driven at your responsibility. For correct connection ask the
manufacturer.
Togenerate correct commutation of sensorless brushless motors signals from the motor windings are used. For the generation of
those signals the motor must rotate. That's the reason why starting the motor is not easy and doesn't perform always within the same
time. Every manufacturer uses its own techniques for starting and for speed control. We van not guarantee proper operation of actro
using other controllers thn of the actronic. Furthermore, a disturbed run of the motor can be caused by a controller, although the
motor is absolutely o.k.
Operate the motor only with a mounted properller adapter. The front ball bearing serves as a dog for the stator shaft to limit the axial
travel. The mounted propeller adapter is an additional shaped part protection to the adhesion of the ball bearing.

Maintenance

Regularely check all fixings of the motor and the propeller. Exchange damaged or suspect screws.
