mit den Eingängen der Endstufe verbunden
werden. Der Übertrager FGA-20 kann zwei
Kanäle transformieren, d. h. es werden zwei
FGA-20 benötigt.
Sind am Autoradio keine Ausgänge für
die hinteren Kanäle (Rear) vorhanden, nur
ein Buchsenpaar (6 oder 12) mit den Auto-
radioausgängen verbinden, und den Ein-
gangswahlschalter RCA IN (4) in die Posi-
tion 2CH stellen.
6.3 Lautsprecher
Es können vier Vollbereichs- oder Satelliten-
lautsprecher und ein Subwoofer betrieben
werden. Die größte Ausgangsleistung wird
beim Anschluß von 2-Ω-Lautsprechern oder
einer Lautsprechergruppe mit einer Gesamt-
impedanz von 2 Ω pro Kanal erreicht (z. B.
zwei 4-Ω-Lautsprecher oder vier 8-Ω-Laut-
sprecher parallelgeschaltet). Es können
jedoch auch einzelne 4-Ω- oder 8-Ω-Laut-
sprecher angeschlossen werden, wobei sich
die Ausgangsleistung verringert.
Wichtig! Alle Lautsprecher müssen 2polig
angeschlossen werden, d. h. ohne
gemeinsamen Masseanschluß.
Bei der Auswahl geeigneter Laut-
sprecher unbedingt deren mecha-
nische und elektrische Belastbar-
keit im Zusammenhang mit der
genutzten Endstufenleistung be-
rücksichtigen (siehe auch techni-
sche Daten der Endstufe Seite 7).

inputs. The transformer FGA-20 can trans-
form two channels, i. e. two FGA-20 units are
necessary.
If the car radio is not provided with out-
puts for the rear channels, only connect one
pair of jacks (6 or 12) to the car radio out-
puts, and set the input selector switch RCA
IN (4) to the position 2CH.
6.3 Speakers
Four full range speakers or four satellite
speakers and a subwoofer can be operated.
The greatest output power is obtained with
the connection of 2 Ω speakers or a speaker
group with a total impedance of 2 Ω per
channel (e. g. two 4 Ω speakers or four 8 Ω
speakers connected in parallel). However,
individual 4 Ω or 8 Ω speakers may also be
connected whereby the output power is
reduced.
Important!All speakers must be connected
with 2 poles, i. e. without com-
mon ground connection.
When choosing suitable speakers,
pay in any case attention to their
mechanical and electrical capabi-
lity in connection with the booster
power applied (also see specifica-
tions of the booster page 7).
Connect the four full range speakers or
satellite speakers to the screw terminals
CHANNELS 1 to 4 (21) and the subwoofer
to the terminals SUB (22) – also see fig. 4.

sprecher an die Schraubklemmen CHAN-
NELS 1 bis 4 (21) anschließen und den Sub-
woofer an die Klemmen SUB (22) – siehe
auch Abb. 4. Durch die unterschiedlichen
Laufzeiten der Schallwellen vom Subwoofer
und von den übrigen Lautsprechern zum
Hörplatz kann es erforderlich sein, den Sub-
woofer umzupolen, d. h. die Plus- und
Minusanschlüsse zu vertauschen.
6.4 Pegelregler für den Subwoofer
Für eine variable Subwoofer-Pegeleinstel-
lung den beiliegenden Regler (15) in Fahrer-
reichweite montieren. Das Anschlußkabel in
die Buchse EXTERNAL BASS CONTROL
(14) stecken.
7 Inbetriebnahme
Vor dem Einschalten sollte die komplette
Verdrahtung der Car-HiFi-Endstufe noch
einmal auf Richtigkeit überprüft werden.
Erst danach die Minusklemme der Auto-
batterie wieder anschließen.
7.1 Trennfrequenzen einstellen
Für Vollbereichslautsprecher wird kein Fil-
ter benötigt. Die Schalter für die Hochpässe
XOVER (7 und 11) in die Position OUT stel-
len.
Für den Subwoofer mit dem Regler LP SUB
(2) die Trennfrequenz im Bereich 30 – 350 Hz
einstellen (je niedriger die obere Grenzfre-
quenz, desto schwerer die akustische Ortung
eines Subwoofers; je höher die Grenzfre-

6.4 Level control for the subwoofer
For a variable subwoofer level adjustment
mount the supplied control (15) within the
driver's reach. Plug the connection cable
into the jack EXTERNAL BASS CONTROL
(14).
7 Setting into Operation
Prior to switching on, the complete wiring
of the car HiFi booster should be checked
once again for correct connection. Only
then connect the negative terminal of the
car battery again.
7.1 Adjusting the crossover frequen-
cies
For full range speakers no filter is neces-
sary. Set the switches for the high passes
XOVER (7 and 11) to position OUT.
For the subwoofer adjust the crossover fre-
quency in the range 30 – 350 Hz with the
control LP SUB (2) – the lower the upper
limit frequency, the more difficult the acous-
tic location of a subwoofer; the higher the
limit frequency, the more powerful the bass
support. As a guidance observe the specifi-
cations of the speakers used.

Mit den Reglern HP (1 und 3) die Trennfre-
quenz im Bereich 30 – 350 Hz einstellen. Es
sollte ca. der gleiche Wert wie für den Sub-
woofer eingestellt werden. Bei einer zu
hohen Trennfrequenz kommt es sonst in
einem bestimmten Frequenzbereich zu
einem Pegeleinbruch bzw. bei einer zu nie-
drigen Trennfrequenz im Bereich der Über-
schneidung von Subwoofer und Satelliten-
lautsprechern zu einer Pegelüberhöhung. In
beiden Fällen entsteht eine Klangverfärbung.
7.2 Pegel einstellen
Tip: Um Störeinstrahlungen durch die Auto-
elektrik so gering wie möglich zu hal-
ten, sollte der Ausgangspegel der Si-
gnalquelle min. 1,5 V betragen.
1) Den Schalter (13) für den externen Sub-
woofer-Pegelregler vorerst in die Position
OFF stellen.
2) Die beiden Regler INPUT LEVEL (8 und
10) sowie den Regler SUB LEVEL (9)
entgegen dem Uhrzeigersinn auf Mini-
mum stellen.
3) Die Signalquelle, z. B. das Autoradio, auf
maximale, nicht verzerrende Lautstärke

einstellen (z. B.

vom Maximum).

4) Die beiden Regler INPUT LEVEL so weit
aufdrehen, daß in den entsprechenden
Kanälen gerade keine Verzerrungen auf-
treten.
For satellite speakers set the switches

Approx. the same value as for the sub-
woofer should be adjusted. Otherwise, if the
crossover frequency is too high, the level will
fall in a certain frequency range, or if the
crossover frequency is too low, the level will
rise too much in the overlapping range of
subwoofer and satellite speakers. In both
cases there will be a sound discolouration.
7.2 Level matching
Hint: To keep the interfering radiation by
the electric system of the car as low
as possible, the output level of the
signal source should be min. 1.5 V.
1) Set the switch (13) for the external sub-
woofer level control to position OFF for
the time being.
2) Set the two controls INPUT LEVEL (8
and 10) as well as the control SUB
LEVEL (9) counter-clockwise to mini-
mum.
3) Adjust the signal source, e. g. the car
radio, to the max. volume which is not
distorting (e. g.

4) Turn up the two controls INPUT LEVEL
so that just no distortions occur in the cor-
responding channels.
5) If the external subwoofer level control
(15) is not necessary, adjust a natural or
a deliberately emphasized bass repro-
duction with the control SUB LEVEL. If
