Operation

Before getting started
• Read chapter "Safety" from page EN-7
and all the safety notices.
• Set up and connect the appliance as
described in chapter "Start-up" from
page EN-31.

Stand-by mode

If no button is pressed for 30 seconds, all in-
dicators on the display will switch off and the
control panel locks automatically.
To make the indicators light up again,
• push any button.
• open a door.
To unlock the control panel, press and hold
the LOCK/UNLOCK button (22) for 3 sec-
onds until the indicator (19) goes out.
Switching the appliance on
and off
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
If the refrigerating appliance has been
transported horizontally, lubricant from
the compressor may make its way into
the cooling circuit.
Allow the appliance to stand upright
■
for approx. 2 hours after transport
and before connecting.
Switching on
1. Insert the mains plug into an easily acces-
sible socket (220–240 V~ / 50 Hz).
– When you open one of the appliance
doors, the interior of the appliance is lit
up.
Operation
– The compressor starts to work, the re-
frigerant flows through the pipes and a
quiet humming sound can be heard. The
appliance is switched on.
2. If the appliance makes unusual noises,
check that it is on a solid base and re-
move any objects that are on top of the
appliance.
The appliance and its functions are
checked before being delivered. The
most recently made settings are re-
tained. If the appliance was switched into
"holiday mode" during the functional test, the
fridge will also be switched off upon being
plugged in for the first time.
Switching off
1. Pull the mains plug out of the socket.
– The signals on the control panel go out.
– When you open one of the appliance
doors, the lights inside the appliance (1)
remain switched off.
– The compressor is switched off. The ap-
pliance doesn't refrigerate.
2. Empty the appliance and clean it (see
"Care and maintenance" on page EN-27).
3. Leave the appliance doors slightly open
to prevent mould from forming.
Locking/unlocking the control
panel
The fridge-freezer is protected against unin-
tentional changes in settings. If any button is
pressed, you will hear a beeping sound and
the indicator (19) will flash. The control
panel is locked. The indicator is illuminated
constantly on the display, until after 30 sec-
onds the control panel automatically closes.
