General safety guidelines

The information provided by the printer status beacon is for informational purposes only, and is not
WARNING!
related to any safety provision or safety states. Warning labels on the printer must be always considered when
operating the printer, regardless of the status indicated by the printer status beacon.
Two control IPS positions are available in the printer. Never operate the printer at the same time from
WARNING!
the two control IPS screens provided. Ensure there is nobody exposed on any printer work or maintenance area
before launching any control command on either of the control IPS screens.
Turn off the printer, using the branch circuit breakers located in the building's Power Distribution Unit (PDU), and call
your service representative in any of the following cases:
The power cord is damaged.
The drying or curing enclosures are damaged.
The printer has been damaged by an impact.
Liquid has entered the printer.
There is smoke or an unusual smell coming from the printer.
The printer's built-in Residual Current Circuit Breaker (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) has been repeatedly
tripped.
Fuses have blown.
The printer is not operating normally.
There is any mechanical or enclosure damage.
Turn off the printer using the branch circuit breakers in either of the following cases:
During a thunderstorm
During a power failure
Take special care with zones marked with warning labels.
There are no operator-serviceable parts inside the printer except those covered by HP's Customer Self Repair
program (see http://www.hp.com/go/selfrepair). Refer servicing of other parts to qualified service personnel.

Important operating notes

Never leave the printer without supervision when the power switch is turned on.
WARNING!
Automatic white-ink system maintenance cannot occur when the printer is completely powered down. If
CAUTION:
the printer will be unused for a long period of time (more than 48 hours), leave only the white-ink switch turned on,
and follow the instructions in the User Guide about power on/off modes.

Electrical shock hazard

The internal circuits and the drying and curing modules operate at hazardous voltages capable of
WARNING!
causing death or serious personal injury.
Turn off the printer using the branch circuit breakers located in the building's Power Distribution Unit (PDU) before
servicing the printer. The printer must be connected to earth at mains outlets only.
