then using the numeric keypad to enter a pad length,
followed by a second pressing of the ◄┘ key. Also, the
▲ and ▼ keys will increment and decrement the pad
length value.
3. If a pad length less than the minimum length allowed is
entered, the pad length will return to the previous valid
value.
4. The number of pads to make for the specified length
can be adjusted by using the ◄ and ► keys to highlight
(black box) the "Pad quantity" box and pressing the
◄┘ key (black box will start blinking),and then using
the numeric keypad to enter a pad quantity, followed
by a second pressing of the ◄┘ key. Also, the ▲ and
▼ keys will increment and decrement the pad length
value.
5. Once in the Automatic Mode screen, enable the mode
with the [F2] key next to the Start label (Figure 5). Once
pressed, the label text will change to Stop.
6. In this mode, once enabled, pads will begin being
produced automatically for the specified length.
7. The "Pad count" box will track how many pads have
been produced. Pad production will end automatically
when the correct numbers of pads have been made.
8. The bar graph will display % complete of total number
of pads.
9. Once the correct numbers of pads have been made,
the "Pad count" box will be automatically reset and the
Stop label will be changed back to Start.
10. Pressing the [F2] key next to the Stop label will disable
the Automatic mode operation upon the completion of
the pad in progress.
11. To override Automatic mode, press the foot switch while
paper is being produced.
12. Automatic mode can also be cancelled by pressing the
[ESC] key or pressing the Reset button
3.5.6 Recipe Mode (Key 5)
1. From the Home Screen (Figure 1), press the [5] key to
go to the Recipe Mode screen.
2. On the Recipe Mode screen (Figure 6), the operator can
preprogram a sequence of pads of various quantities
and lengths that can be reproduced with a single key
press. The first step to using this mode is to create a
recipe. To create/edit a recipe, press the [F1] key next

to the Setup label. This will take the operator to the
Recipe Mode Setup screen (Figure 6b).

3. In the Recipe Mode Setup screen, the operator can
press any of the "#" keys to go to the Setup for the
corresponding recipe.
4. Once a recipe is selected to modify, the operator will be
taken to a Recipe # screen similar to that in Figure 7.

5. Pad length (in or cm) and Quantity (Qty) on Recipe #
screen may be adjusted by navigating to the item to be
adjusted using the ◄ and ► keys. Pressing the ◄┘
key (black box will start blinking), and then using the
numeric keypad to enter a value, followed by a second
pressing of the ◄┘ key. Also, the ▲ and ▼ keys will
increment and decrement the value. If a pad length less
