3. OPERATOR INSTRUCTIONS

Before operating the converter, the

3.1

Construction and Control

• 1 Emergency Stop circuit, which includes:
◦ 1 Emergency Stop button
◦ 1 Front cover safety switch
◦ 1 Rear cover safety switch
• 1 or 2 foot pedals
• 1 On/Off main switch
• 2 line power fuses
Using a dual foot switch will result in an
extra risk. Due to the risk assessment
this risk is acceptable.

3.2

Turning the Converter On

First, check that the following conditions are met:
• The foot pedal is plugged in
• The Emergency Stop button is deactivated
• All covers are closed
• Hands are free from the converter exit chute
Then follow these steps:
• Plug the power plug into the wall socket with ground
contact
• Set the main switch (located next to the power cord
plug at the side off the machine) to "on" or "I";
• Reset the machine:
◦ Turn the mode selector to "Manual"
(position 2).
◦ Press the 2 red Cut/Reset buttons simultaneously;
◦ Machine MUST be reset to operate.
The converter is now ready for use.

Loading the Paper

Pay attention when using hand tools
such as knives, scissors etc, due to the
risk of cutting!
Warning!
Pay attention to ergonomic factors such
as lifting, bending, reaching, etc.!
Warning!
To load paper in the converter, complete the following
steps:
1. Turn the mode selector to "Manual" (position 2).
2. Turn the main switch off.
3. Pull the roll
break up and
lock it.

machine with the
paper layers on
top.
Unlock the roll
brake and push
it down.
5. Open the rear
safety cover.
6. Guide the paper
under the roll
brake toward the
upper roller
7. Guide the paper
over the upper
roller and under
V-bar.
8. Slide the paper
under the former
unit and push
up into the gear
area.
9. Close the rear
safety cover.
10. Turn the main switch on
11. Press the 2 red Cut/Reset buttons
simultaneously
12. Press the foot switch to engage the feed motor
to pull the paper into the gears. Release the foot
switch once the paper extends out of the chute
at least 10cm (4 inches).
Pad will be cut automatically
13. Pull the cut off pad out of the chute. This is an
important step as the machine will not begin pad
production if the front chute is open.
14. The converter is now ready for use.
