Initial operation

Note
In order to heat the water in the pool (or in the hot tub), the filter pump must be in oper-
ation and the water must circulate through the heat pump at a minimum of 2,500 litres/
hour. Otherwise, the heat pump will not start up.
After all connections have been made and checked, the following procedure must be carried
out:
Switch on the filter pump. Check for leaks and check that the water circulates from and to the pool.
Connect the heat pump to the power outlet and turn on the On/Off button. The heat pump will start
up after the built in time delay (see below).
After a few minutes, check whether the exhaust air from the heat pump is cool.
When the filter pump is turned off, the heat pump will also automatically turn off. If this is not the
case, the flow switch needs adjusting.
Allow the heat pump and the filter pump to run 24 hours a day until the desired water temperature
is reached. The heat pump will then maintain the desired temperature.
Note
Depending on the initial temperature of the water in the swimming pool and the air
temperature, it may take several days to heat the water to the desired temperature. A
good insulating thermal cover is essential and will reduce the required heating time sig-
nificantly. Free-standing pools, without insulation on the sides, have a greater heat loss
and therefore require more heating capacity and a longer heating time.

5.1. Flow Switch

The heat pump is equipped with a Flow Switch, which ensures that there is an adequate through
flow of water (at least 2,500 l/h), when the heat pump is running. It will start when the filter pump is
running and turn off when the pump stops. If a pool's waterline is either a metre above or below the
heat pump automatic adjustment button, it may be necessary for an authorised dealer to adjust the
heat pump's default setting.

5.2. Time delay

The heat pump has a built-in 3-minute boot delay to protect circuits and avoid excessive switch
wear. The unit will restart automatically after this delay. Even a short power outage will trigger this
time delay and prevent the unit from restarting immediately. Additional power interruptions during
this delay period do not affect the 3-minute duration of the delay.
