4. CONNECTION TO THE DRAIN
The drain should be at least 150 mm. lower than the level of the storage bin.
The fitting of a syphon will avoid unpleasant smells. The drainage tube should have an internal diameter of 30 mm. sloping
at least 3 cm. per metre.
N.B. on water condensed machines an aditional drain for condensation water is fitted apart from the one mentioned, with
an exterior diameter of 12 mm.
5.- ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
The machines are supplied with a 1'5 m. long lead fitted with a Schuko plug. Make sure there is a suitable socket. A switch
with the necessary fuses should be installed. The voltage and intensity are specified on the information plate and in this
manual.
Differences in voltage of over 10% of those specified may cause breakdowns or prevent the machine starting.
The line up to the socket should have a 12/10 minimum section for the samller models and 25/10 on the larger ones. Make
sure that the mains voltage and that specified on the information plate are the same.
WARNING: A suitable earth must be fitted to the ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION.
H O W I T W O R K S
When the machine is switched on the compressor and the agitator motor start, the water entry valve opens and allows
water into the production pan up to a level where the float makes a microswitch cut the current to the valve and so stop
water entering the tray. The compressor, controlled by capillaries produces enough cold in the evaporator to gradually freeze
the water arounds its "fingers".
When the ice so formed reaches the proper size the paddles of the agitator are stopped and its motor, suspended, works
the end of cycle micro-switch.
This micro-switch connects the relay tha starts the cam motor. When the micro-swtich has fallen, opens the hot gas valve
and stops tha agitator motor. The compressor continues working for another 20", then stops, and the agitator motor is
connected. The cam motor starts to move downwards, making part of the surplus water flow to the drain, and dropping
the ice cubes, pushed by the ejection plate into the storage bin.
The pan eventually gets back to its initial position and so starts another production cycle.
Once the storage bin is full the pan stops in its downward movement as it touches the cubes, so working the safety stop
micro-switch and switching off the machine. Production will start again as soon as the cubes which detained it moved or
removed.
In the case of the 200Kg Unit, the 'full' state is carried out by thermostat which, with its element located in the upper part
of the stock tank into which the cubes fall, detects when deposit is full and opens the electrical circuit, thus halting the
machine.

1. CLEANING
(1.1)
The regulratity of maintenance and cleaning depends on the type of use, the premises and the water supply.
Points 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4 should be carried out at least once a year.
(1.2)
- Cleaning the water intake filter.
- Unplug the machines.
- Turn off the water supply.
- Free the 3/4 gas connection.
- CLEAN THE SEAL/FILTER.
- Follow these instructions in reverse order to have the machine working again.
(1.3)
Cleaning and deliming the water circuit, water pan, storage bin (or icestore) and condenser,
(on water condensed machines). Where the water is very hard this deliming may have to be done more often.
This cleaning and deliming operation should be done by authorized experts.
(1.4)
On air condensed machines, the condenser should be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner, NON-METALLIC BRUSH
or with gas under pressure (air, nitrogen).
In dusty or smoky premises this operation should be done as often as every month, above all in summer season.
(1.5)
Check and adjust if necessary the water level and size of cubes.
2. EXTERIOR CLEANING AND ICE CUBE STORAGE BIN.
(2.1)
The outside of the machine can be cleaned by wiping with a sponge, warm water and a household detergent,
then cleaning off and drying with a clean cloth.
Marks which do not come off in this way can be got rid of with liquid polish of the type used to polish
car paintwork.
CAUSTIC SODA SHOULD NEVER BE USED.
(2.2)
Empty out the cubes. Clean and dry as for the preceding point.
Lime deposits can be removed with a cloth damped in our DESINCRUSTANT,
cleaning off afterwards with bicarbonated water.
