Cooling Fan
The cooling fan (nominal input voltage of the cooling fan is 5.0 V, max. voltage
6.0 V) is being fed by an internal stabilized power supply during the regular
operation of the ESC. The "FAN" cable with servo connector socket allows you
to cool down the ESC without the car power pack being connected during the
pit stop. You can use a regular 4-5cell NiCd/NiMH receiver pack to feed the cool-
ing fan.
Note: DO NOT connect any external power source via the "FAN" cable if the car
power pack is connected!
PROGRAMMING THE FOXY CAR 1:8 ESC
Throttle Range Calibration
When the ESC is to be used for the first time with a particular transmitter
you must perform the Throttle Range Calibration first.
1. Turn on your transmitter, set the EPA/ATV value of the throttle channel
to +/-100%.
2. Hold the red "Set" button (located on the ESC switch body) and switch
on the ESC, wait for about 4 seconds until only the orange LED is on,
then release the "Set" button.
3. Pull the throttle trigger to full throttle; the red LED starts to blink and
after a moment goes on solid and the motor beeps. If no LED goes on,
but the red LED will go on if the throttle stick is pushed to the full re-
verse/brake position, you have to reverse the throttle channel direction
on your transmitter first. Then return to the Step 2 and start the calibra-
tion procedure again.
Status LEDs - Detection of Sensored and Sensorless function
Once the input power wires of the ESC are connected to the battery pack, the
ESC automatically identifies the motor type (Sensored/Sensorless), the result is
signalled by the status LEDs.

4. Push the throttle trigger to full brake (reverse); the orange LED blinks
and after a moment goes on solid and the motor beeps.
5. Now return the throttle trigger to the neutral position, both of the red LED
and orange LED will blink simultaneously and after a moment goes on solid,
the motor beeps. Then both red LED and orange LED go off. The throttle
range calibration has been successfuly accomplished.
6. Turn off the ESC power switch.
7. Turn the ESC back ON. You are ready to use your ESC now.
