The flame simulator series has been assessed and rated in
accordance with the following directives:

3 Use
3.1

Prerequisites

Special instructions for safe use

WARNING
Risk of explosion!
► Do not open the flame simulator to charge the batteries or for any
other reason in a hazardous area.
Do not repair or modify the flamepaths of the flame simulator.


Preparation for use

Make sure that the flame simulator is charged before operation.

Make sure that both reflector and window are clean.


During use

3.4.1 Status of the flame simulator
Dräger FS 1100/1400
Status Flame simulator performance
Normal The laser turns on constantly for 5 seconds
before the IR radiation turns on. During these
5 seconds, the user aligns the laser with the
target point of the flame detector.
Then,
50 seconds. After these 50 seconds, the IR
radiation turns off. The flame simulator cannot
be operated for a further 20 seconds.
Fault
Low battery The laser flashes 3 times. IR radiation will still
be activated.
IR fault The laser flashes 5 times. IR radiation will not
be activated.
Total failure The laser does not turn on. IR radiation will
not be activated.
