09. Operation

Insert the plug connector into the socket and secure the extension cable on the equipment with a
clip relieving its tensile stress. Important! To prevent accidental activation of the equipment, the
ON/OFF switch is equipped with a safety lock which must be pressed before the lever is used.
When the switch is released, the equipment is switched off.
Repeat this procedure again to make sure that the equipment is fully operable.
Important! Before any repairs, maintenance or adjustment made to the equipment, make sure that
the motor is switched off and the scarifying roller is not rotating.
Important! Never open the safety flap when the motor is running. The rotating scarifying roller can
cause serious injuries.
Fix the safety flap safely. The cover is always returned to closed position by safety springs!
Keep uncompromisingly a safe distance between the user and the equipment casing (this distance
is given by the length of the set push bar).
Be extremely careful when working with the scarifier and when changing direction.
Keep a safe balance when walking and wear protective anti-slip footwear and long trousers.
Always work with the scarifier along the slope (not up and down the slope). For safety reasons, the
scarifier must not be used on slopes with a gradient exceeding 15°.
Pay utmost attention when moving back or pulling the scarifier (there is a risk of slipping)!
Instructions for correct operation
- We recommend that the paths of the scarifier slightly overlap.
- Try operating the scarifier in a straight line to treat the garden carefully and cleanly.
- The aerating bands should always overlap by several centimetres to eliminate untreated
areas.
As soon as you can see the residues of grass behind the scarifier, you should empty the

collecting bag.
Important! Firstly, switch off the motor and wait until the roller stops completely. Then empty the
collecting bag.
When removing the bag, lift the safety flap with one hand while unhinging the bag using your other
hand.
The frequency of the lawn treatment with the scarifier depends in particular on how quickly the
grass grows and how hard the soil is.
Always keep the lower side of the equipment clean and remove the deposits of grass and soil.
Residues of dirt have a negative impact on starting the scarifier and reduce its performance.
Before checking the rollers, always switch off the motor first and pull the plug out of the socket.
The rollers are still rotating for several seconds after the equipment is switched off. Never try to stop
the rollers.
If the rotating rollers strike against any object, immediately switch off the equipment and wait until
the rollers stop completely. Then check the rollers for damage. Replace all damaged parts (use
exclusively original spare parts).
Lead the extension cable on the ground in loops. Perform scarifying away from the mains socket
and cable and make sure that the cable is always located behind you on the already treated soil and
that you never run over the cable. See Fig. 6.
