Essential safety instructions
WARNING: Please read all instructions carefully. Familiarize yourself with all controls and
the correct use of the equipment. Adhere to all instructions provided herein, otherwise you
may put yourself and others at the risk of electrical accident, fire or serious injury.
The term »electrical equipment« or just »equipment«, which is used in all instructions,
relates to this electrical equipment powered by the mains (equipped with the power cable)
or by a battery (with no cable).
1) Working area
a) The working area must always be clean and well-lit. Disorderly and dark areas are often
the cause of accidents or damage to the equipment.
b) Never operate the electrical equipment in an explosive environment, e.g. in the
immediate vicinity of flammable liquids, gases or dust. The electrical equipment
generates sparks which can ignite dust, gases or fumes.
c) Note that the user is responsible for accidents or putting others or their property at risk.
d) If you are working with electrical equipment, always keep children and onlookers at a
safe distance. Insufficient concentration may result in loss of control over the electrical
equipment.
e) Work only during daylight hours or with good artificial lighting.
f) Always pay attention to good stability on slopes.
g) Always walk when operating the equipment, never run.
h) Pay heightened attention when changing direction on slopes.
i) Never work on extremely steep slopes.
j) Pay utmost attention when pulling the equipment backwards or towards you.
k) Never lift or carry the equipment with its motor running.
l) Ensure that all screws, nuts and pins are firmly tightened and that the equipment is in
safe operable condition.
2) Electrical safety
a) The plug connector of the power cable must match the mains socket. Never modify the
plug connector in any way. Never use socket adapters with grounded (earth-connected)
electrical equipment. The original plug connector and the corresponding mains sockets
reduce the risk of electrical accident.
b) Prevent any body contact with grounded or earth-connected surfaces, such as tubes,
heaters, cooking stoves or refrigerators. If your body is grounded or earth-connected,
you put yourself at an increased risk of electrical accident.
c) Never expose the equipment to rain or humidity. Water penetrating into the electrical
equipment increases the risk of electrical accident.
d) Never use the power cable for a different purpose than that for which it is designed.
Never use the power cable for carrying, pulling or pulling the plug connector from the
socket (always pull by the plug). Always keep the cable out of the reach of fire, oil, sharp
edges or moving parts. Damaged cables must be replaced immediately. Damaged or
twisted cables increase the risk of electrical accident.
e) If the power cable has been damaged, you must have it replaced immediately with the
original spare cable by a specialist service provider. If you use the electrical equipment
