2.3 Suture Anchors
Device Description
Smith & Nephew OSTEORAPTOR™ Curved
2.3 Suture Anchors are fixation devices
intended to provide secure attachment
of soft tissue to bone. These devices
consist of a suture anchor with an attached
non-absorbable suture(s) preassembled to
a flexible insertion device. OSTEORAPTOR
Curved 2.3 Suture Anchors are designed for
use with the Smith & Nephew curved guides,
flexible obturators, and flexible drill bits for 2.3
suture anchors.
OSTEORAPTOR Curved 2.3 Suture Anchors are
provided sterile, for single use only.

1 ea Absorbable suture anchor, 2.3 mm
diameter – PLLA/HA (poly l-lactide/
hydroxyapatite)
1 ea Flexible insertion device – flexible
stainless steel shaft with a
polycarbonate and ABS handle
Non-absorbable Suture Options
• White – braided, uncoated, UHMW
polyethylene
• W hite/blue – braided, uncoated,
UHMW polyethylene with monofilament
polypropylene cobraid
• W hite/black – braided, uncoated, UHMW
polyethylene with monofilament nylon
cobraid

Indications for Use
Smith & Nephew OSTEORAPTOR Curved
2.3 Suture Anchors are intended for the
reattachment of soft tissue to bone for the
following indications:
Shoulder
• Capsular stabilization
– Bankart repair
– Anterior shoulder instability
– SLAP lesion repairs
– Capsular shift or capsulolabral
reconstructions
• Acromioclavicular separation repairs
• Deltoid repairs
• Rotator cuff tear repairs
• Biceps tenodesis
Contraindications
• Known hypersensitivity to the implant
material. Where material sensitivity is
suspected, appropriate tests should be
made and sensitivity ruled out prior to
implantation.
• Pathological conditions of bone, such as
cystic changes or severe osteopenia, which
would compromise secure anchor fixation.
• Pathological conditions in the soft tissues
to be attached that would impair secure
fixation by suture.
• Comminuted bone surface, which would
compromise secure anchor fixation.
• Physical conditions which would eliminate,
or tend to eliminate, adequate anchor
support or retard healing.
