INTRODUCTION

This Operations Manual is intended to describe the design and operation rules of a heat-insulating cold room.
The room can be installed, commenced into operation and maintained by official service centers as well as other
entities and companies engaged in maintenance by manufacturer's assignment. This Manual includes the

certificate data.

1. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1.1. Purpose

Heat-insulating cold rooms of types KXC (medium-temperature) and KXH (low-temperature) (hereinafter referred
to as – the cold rooms) are intended for short-term storage of chilled (frozen) food items in heated and non-
heated premises, and under sheds at an ambient temperature from minus 30 to plus 40°C and at relative
humidity of 80 percent maximum.

1.2. Technical characteristics

The basic parameters and technical characteristics of the cold rooms shipped as sets of panels are:
1. Overall dimensions of a cold room should meet the delivery contract provisions.
2. The recommended inside temperature is:
- from minus 5 to plus 5°C – for the medium-temperature ones;
- minus 18°C maximum – for the low-temperature ones.
3. The insulation heat conductivity factor is 0.025 +/- 0.005 Wt/mC.
4. The heat insulation is 80 (or 100) mm thick.
5. The specific load on the floor should not exceed 15000 N/m2 (1500 kgf/m2) when storing the food
items on racks and 3.106 N/m2 (30 kgf/cm2) under the container supports or transportation carriages.

1.3. Product design and operation

A cold room consists of a set of panels: side ones, ceiling, floor, door frame, door, corner elements – posts. The
door is equipped by a handle having a built-in lock that is locked by a key from outside and is unlocked key-free
from inside. The door is hanged on hinges with a torsion device that is to ensure self-closing of the door. To cool
down the cold room inside volume it is necessary to use a removable monoblock refrigeration unit that is
recommended to be mounted into one of the side panels.

2.1 Set of delivery

A set of delivery should include a room (as a set of panels), operation documents, removable parts and assembly
units (Table 2).
