Problem
No mist comes out, or the
mist level dial does not
work.
Humidifier produces an
unusual smell.
Humidifier emits strange
sounds when in use.
Only a small amount of mist
comes out of the nozzle.
Water leaks from the
humidifier.
Possible Solution
Unplug the humidifier and plug it back in. Turn the mist level dial
to the desired mist setting.
Add at least 475 mL / 2 US cups of purified or distilled water to
the water tank.
Turn off the humidifier and remove the water tank from the base.
Clean the humidifier (see Keeping Things Clean, page 8).
Check to make sure the nozzle is not clogged or dirty.
Make sure the water tank is properly aligned with the base.
The water level may be low. Check and refill as needed.
Make sure the humidifier is placed on a flat, level surface.
Turn the mist level dial to a higher mist setting.
There may be mineral buildup inside the base. Clean the
transducer with a cleaning brush and distilled white vinegar (see
Keeping Things Clean, page 8).
Water may be dirty or has been sitting in the tank for a long
period of time. Clean the humidifier (see Keeping Things Clean,
page 8) and refill with purified or distilled water.
Make sure the nozzle is not blocked or clogged.
Make sure that the water tank is properly aligned with the base.
Make sure the water tank cap is securely in place. The blue valve
in the water tank cap should be able to open/close properly.
Clean the valve if necessary.
When humidity is too high, water may condense on the surface
of the humidifier or surrounding area. Turn down the mist level or
turn off the humidifier.
Water outlet may be blocked by mineral buildup. Clean the water
outlet (see Keeping Things Clean, page 8).
