ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES
FOR CHAIN SAW
1.
Don't expose chain saw to rain. Don't use it in
damp or wet locations.
2.
Hold the chain saw firmly with both hands
when the motor is running.
3.
Install saw chain properly according to this
instruction manual.
4.
Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and
balance at all times.
5.
Keep all parts of the body away from the saw
chain when the motor is operating.
6.
Before you start the saw, make sure the saw
chain is not contacting anything.
7.
Switch off the chain saw immediately if you
notice anything abnormal in operation.
8.
Carefully inspect the chain saw if you drop or
strike it against something hard.
9.
When not in use, chain saws should be
stored in a dry, and high or locked-up place —
out of reach of children. When storing saw,
use a scabbard (chain cover).
10. Use safety glasses. Also use safety footwear;
snug fitting clothing; protective gloves; and
head protection.
11. Before making a cut, remove dirt, stones,
loose bark, nails, staples and wire from the
tree.
12. Secure the workpiece so that it will not move
suddenly during operation. Be careful of cut-
off pieces. They may hit operator.
13. To prevent the saw chain from being pinched
in the cut, support the workpiece near the cut
using blocks or the like.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Installing or removing battery cartridge (Fig. 1)
• Always switch off the tool before insertion or
removal of the battery cartridge.
• To remove the battery cartridge, withdraw it from
the tool while pressing the buttons on both sides of
the cartridge.
• To insert the battery cartridge, align the tongue on
the battery cartridge with the groove in the housing
and slip it into place. Always insert it all the way
until it locks in place with a little click. If not, it may
accidentally fall out of the tool, causing injury to you
or someone around you.
• Do not use force when inserting the battery car-
tridge. If the cartridge does not slide in easily, it is
not being inserted correctly.

Installing or removing saw chain
CAUTION:
• Always be sure that the tool is switched off and the
battery cartridge is removed before installing or
removing the saw chain.
• Always wear gloves when installing or removing the
saw chain.
Loosen the screws with a screwdriver. Remove the
sprocket guard. (Fig. 2)
Loosen the bolt with the hex wrench provided.
Remove the guide bar. (Fig. 3)
Fit the saw chain over the guide bar. Notice that the
cutters must be facing the revolving (arrow) direction.

Fit the saw chain over the sprocket. Install the guide
bar so that its concave portion will contact the saw
chain tension adjusting spring. (Fig. 5)
Tighten the bolt to secure the guide bar. Install the
sprocket guard and tighten the screws to secure it.
Lubrication (Fig. 6)
CAUTION:
• Always be sure that the tool is switched off and the
battery cartridge is removed before lubricating the
saw chain.
• Always use vegetable oil when pruning fruit trees.
Mineral oil may harm trees.
Lubricate the whole saw chain evenly before each
use. Also lubricate it whenever replacing a fully dis-
charged battery cartridge with a charged one.
Switch action (Fig. 7)
CAUTION:
Before inserting the battery cartridge into the tool,
always check to see that the switch trigger actuates
properly and returns to the "OFF" position when
released.
To prevent the switch trigger from being accidentally
pulled, a lock-off button is provided.
To start the tool, depress the lock-off button and pull
the switch trigger. Release the switch trigger to stop.
Carrying tool (Fig. 8)
Always remove the battery cartridge from the tool
and cover the guide bar with the scabbard before car-
rying the tool. Also cover the battery cartridge with
the battery cover.
