Intended use

The Aquamax 2000 and Aquamax Eco 3500, 5500, 8500 series, in the following termed unit(s), are exclusively inten-
ded for pumping normal pond water for filters, waterfalls and water course systems. The units are to be operated at a
water temperature of +4 °C to +35 °C and an operating voltage of 220-240 Volt.

The unit is suitable for use for swimming and bathing ponds (A) in accordance with the national installer regulations.

Use other than that intended
Danger to persons can emanate from this unit if it is not used in accordance with the intended use and in the case of
misuse. If used for purposes other than that intended, our warranty and operating permit will become null and void.

OASE has manufactured this unit according to the current state of the art and the valid safety regulations. Despite the
above, hazards for persons and assets can emanate from this unit if it is used in an improper manner or not in accor-
dance with its intended use, or if the safety instructions are ignored.
For safety reasons, children and young persons under 16 years of age as well as persons who cannot recog-
nise possible danger or who are not familiar with these operating instructions, are not permitted to use the
unit!

Hazards encountered by the combination of water and electricity
− The combination of water and electricity can lead to death or severe injury from electrocution, if the unit is incorrectly
connected or misused.
− Prior to reaching into the water, always disconnect the power supply to all units used in the water.
Correct electrical installation
− Electrical installations at garden ponds must meet the international and national regulations valid for installers.
− Only use cables approved for outside use.
− Ensure that the pump is protected by a rated fault current of max. 30 mA via a fault current protection device.
− Only connect the pump when the electrical data of the power supply is identical to that on the pump type plate.
− Only operate the pump when plugged into a correctly fitted socket. Keep the socket dry.
− For your own safety, consult a qualified electrician when you have questions or encounter problems.
Safe operation of the unit
− Only operate the pump if no persons are in the water.
− Keep the power plug dry.
− Route the power cable so that damage is excluded.
− Do not carry or pull the pump by the power cable. The power connection cable cannot be replaced. If the cable is
damaged, the entire pump has to be disposed of.
− Never run the pump without water! Otherwise the pump will be destroyed.
− Never use the pump for fluids other than water. Other fluids could destroy the pump.
− Never open the pump housing or its attendant components, unless this is explicitly mentioned in the operating
instructions.
− Never carry out technical modifications to the pump.
− Run the pump at a maximum depth of 4 m below the water level.
− Only use original spare parts and original accessories for the pump. Only have repairs carried out by authorised
customer service points.

Important! The unit is equipped with a permanent magnet. The magnetic field may affect the function of pace-
makers.

Electrical connection

Only entrust an authorised expert to carry out the electrical connection in accordance with the German EVU and VDE.
VDE 0100 Part 702 is valid for all installations. Refer to the type plate for all capacity parameters. Only perform any
work on the unit when isolated!
