u With volume up (+) surrounding sounds can be increased by up to 12dB in 4 steps. With
volume down (-), surrounding sounds can be reduced by up to 15dB (from the power up
setting) in 5 steps. A single beep indicates when you have reached the end of the volume
control range.
u By pressing volume down (-) for 2 seconds, the ambient sound is muted, i.e. the level-
dependent feature is switched-off. The system acts as a passive hearing protection.
u To quit the mute mode press the volume up key (+) briefly. The system then returns in the
last volume setting.
3.4 Battery end-of-life
u When battery power runs low, the system signals this with a beep every 30 secs. Shortly
before powering down, the frequency of the beeps is increased.
u If the battery is dead, or if the battery is not present, or if the system is off (position "0"),
the FreeCom 7000 behaves as a headset with passive hearing protection.
