5.2 Operating
Permanent operation
1. Place the Vortex on the table, turn the speed control knob on the lowest position and plug-in the
power supply.
2. Push the two-direction switch leftward to ON. The power LED lights and the instrument is in the
"standby" mode.
3. Turn on the Vortex by pushing the speed control knob clockwise. Set a rated speed. The mixing head
begins to vibrate and you can press your test tube vertically on the mixing head.
4. If you wish to finish, push the two-direction-switch rightwards to OFF, LED light goes off and the
instrument is turned off.
Touch operation
1. Place the Vortex on the table and plug-in the power supply.
2. Push the two-direction switch rightward to the touch mode. The power LED lights and the instru-
ment is in the "standby" mode.
3. Turn on the Vortex by turning the speed control knob clockwise. Set a rated speed. Press the test
tube vertically on to the mixing head, and the instrument begins to work.
4. If you wish to finish, push the two-direction-switch leftwards to OFF. The power LED is now off and
instrument turns off.
6. Maintenance and cleaning

Proper maintenance and cleaning will keep the instrument in good working order and will lengthen
its life time.
•
Be careful not spray any cleaning fluid into the instrument. Unplug the power cord when cleaning.

Please use only Isopropyl alcohol and water containing tenside. Before using other methods or
cleaning agents, the user must ascertain with the manufacturer that this will not destroy the
instrument.
•
Wear protective gloves during cleaning of the instrument.
•
When not in use for long periods, switch off the instrument and store it in a dry, clean and stable
place at room temperature.
Warranty
This instrument is under warranty to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal
use and service, for a period of 24 months from the date of invoice. The warranty claim expires if the
instrument is opened by untrained or unqualifi ed staff. Our "General terms and conditions" apply.
