Backward compatibility

If the control unit of the first version of a KHS Flushing Box (manufactured till 2014) is
exchanged with another one (model from year 2014), the following information has to be
regarded to maintain backward compatibility.

3.8.1 Flush signal

Under the following conditions, the existing flush signal of the digital I/O interface can be
used. It is recommended to reset the digital I/O interface.
The flush signal must be longer than 5 seconds. Note: Flushing is released 2–3 seconds
after the start of the flush signal.
No selection signal is required.
A flushing program has to be selected for every solenoid valve via KEMPER HS2-App to
determine the flushing time ("interval" mode with flushing time must be stored in the
App).
As soon as the control unit receives a signal via the digital I/O interface the control unit
works in slave mode. From this moment all flushing programs are deactivated.
The flush signal releases the following actions:
1.
Flush with the first flushing program with the "Interval" flush mode in the active
operating mode;
2.
Pause of 1 second;
3.
Flush with the second flushing program with the "Interval" flush mode in the active
operating mode.

3.8.2 Output signals

KHS Hygiene Flushing Boxes (manufactured till 2014) have only one common ground cable
for input and output signals. To maintain backward compatibility, the terminals 1 and 2 need
to be connected, to obtain the wired earth on the output side.
