Note, read carefully!
This manual is intended for the unit operator.
Keep it in a safe place!
The breaking saw may only be operated:
 In a technically safe condition, for its in-
tended use and in accordance with the ap-
plicable safety and accident prevention reg-
ulations.
 With all the safety devices attached.
 In accordance with the safety precautions.
 After the operating personnel has read and
understood this operating manual, in particu-
lar chapt. 2 and 3.
Only in this way can incorrect operation be
avoided and hazard situations correctly as-
sessed.
Never reach into the area of
the saw blade to avoid the risk
of cutting off limbs!
Wear eye protection or safety
goggles when completing
work!

1.1 Symbols in this manual

Hazard symbol:
Lack of attention can result in an immediate risk
of injury for operating personnel or third parties.
Furthermore, the unit may be damaged.

tion must be taken here.

1.2 Intended use

1.2.1 Field of application

The breaking saw is used for breaking
cows, calves, pigs and sheep.
The device is not equipped for any other form of
use. If the operator of the device wishes to use
it in any other way, it is essential to consult the
company Schmid & Wezel GmbH prior to using
the device.
Use in any other way may result in a risk of ac-
cidents and increased wear to the blade.
The user alone is liable for the consequences of
any other form of use.

1.2.2 Residual risks

The breaking saw is designed for industrial use
on animal carcasses. Its use involves a risk of
injury.
Gross abuse may result in fatal injury, i.e. in
cases of improper use you have to expect direct
death or bleeding to death.
Be sure therefore to always use the machine in
the proper manner.

The order numbers for both the parts enclosed
in the package and for accessories can be
found in Appendix A "Liste der Ersatz- und
Verschleißteile / List of spare and wear parts".

2 Safety Instructions

2.1 General safety precautions

Be sure to observe the following safety precau-
tions when working with the breaking saw:
 Changing the saw blade as well as installa-
tion, maintenance and repair work may only
be carried out when the machine is discon-
nected from the mains supply!
 Select personal protection equipment ac-
cording to the regulations applicable on the
premises and to the accident prevention reg-
ulations in force.
