4. OPERATION AND USE

4.1. Function keys
With the speech key, you can:
• start and end a call by pressing briefly.
In noisy environments, you could hold the key down while you talk (your unit then functions like a walkie-talkie and the background noise will be
suppressed).
Depending on the settings, the door opener key allows you to (with service unit 10-870 or power supply 10-80x):
• open the door and end the communication 4 sec. later.
• switch the light relay when a call has not yet been started (if this function has been activated on the external unit).
The ring tone key allows you to:
• switch off the ring tone by pressing this key briefly.
• switch on the ring tone by pressing this key briefly again.

Action
Connect the internal unit as shown in the wiring diagram (fig. 1).
Tighten the flush-mounting or surface-mounting box using
four screws (fig. 3 and 4).
The internal video unit is wired with 6-wire cable, with a
twisted cable foroptimal image quality.
Connect the bell push button to terminals E and P (fig. 1).
Remove the jumper if the device is not the last internal
video unit on the cable. Install the jumper if the device is
the last internal video unit on the cable (fig. 3).
• Connect the flat cable. When installing flush-mounting
model 10-573, adjust the support plates using the wing
nuts inside the flush-mounting box. This allows you to
control whether the front plate should be mounted nearer
to or further away from the wall.
• Click the front plate onto the flush-mounting or surface-
mounting box. The flush-mounting or surface-mounting
box and the front plate are held together by 4 magnets
that stick to the support plates.
• Surface-mounting model 10-572:
- Switch off the mains supply to prevent damage to the
installation
- Insert a screwdriver into the opening at the bottom of
the surface-mounting box.
- Push the screw driver slightly towards the wall
- Remove the front panel from the surface-mounting box
- Disconnect the flat cable
• Flush-mounting model 10-573:
- Switch off the mains supply to prevent damage to the
installation
- Using both hands, firmly take hold of the front plate
- Gently pull it away from the flush-mounting box
- Disconnect the flat cable
Tip
Disconnect all power before installing the internal video
unit. Do not connect the device to the mains voltage until
installation has been completed.
• The arrow must point upwards.
• When mounting the box on an uneven surface, be careful
not to over-tighten the screws as this could distort the box.
• Position the surface-mounting or flush-mounting box
underneath the cable entry at a height of 160 cm.
Limit the length of the wires to prevent them from getting
pinched when the front plate is clicked.
Remove the light bulb from the bell push button to prevent
it from permanently using power, thus preventing calls from
being made.
Please check the dimensions of the flush-mounting or
surface-mounting box before installation (§ 9).
Be careful not to cause any damage to the flat cable during
disassembly.
