Remove the battery if the multimeter will not be used for a
GB
longer period. Thus, damage to the unit due to battery leakage
will be prevented.

5 Carrying out Measurements

B
Measurements of objects which carry more than 42 V must
only be made by persons able to recognize a hazard of
contact and to take corresponding safety precautions. In case
of measurements with hazard of contact avoid working on
your own. Ask a second person to assist.
To avoid overload of the multimeter in case of unknown values to
be measured, start with the maximum measuring range and then
switch to the lowest possible measuring range. Exceeding of a
measuring range will be indicated by means of the display (1) "OL"
or "-OL". In this case, select the next-higher measuring range.
To "freeze" a measuring value, use the buttons "MAX HOLD" (2)
and "DATA HOLD"(3):
button "DATA HOLD": "Freezing" of the measuring value if the
Button "MAX HOLD": "Freezing" of the maximum measuring value
To activate this function, press the corresponding button (symbol
resp. MAX on display). To deactivate the function, press the
D-H
button once again.

5.1 Voltage measurement

Care must be taken with measurements exceeding 42 V. The
object to be measured or the test tips must not be touched in
any case.
Take into account unexpected voltages at test objects. For
instance, capacitors may be dangerously charged even if the
voltage source is switched off.
With this meter no measurements in current circuits with corona
discharges (high voltage) must be carried out. Danger of life!
The voltage max. to be measured must not exceed 600 V~/ .
Otherwise there will be danger of life for the user!
14
object to be measured has been separated
from the multimeter.
in case of fluctuation of the displayed value.
