8. Maintenance

In order to observe operational safety and ecological limit values as well as to secure economic
operation, the device has to be serviced and cleaned in regular intervals.
Maintenance work must be carried out by competent specialists. A clean hot air generator ensures
good combustion with faultfree operation over a long period of time.
The device has to be accessible for maintenance and repair. Installation, in which the burner and other
technical components are inaccessible or hidden, is not permitted.
CAUTION !!! Carry out maintenance work only with the mains plug removed !
1. After every heating period or earlier, depending on how much dirt is present at the location of use,
the inside parts have to be cleared of dust and dirt (at least once a year).
2. After every heating period, the combustion chamber has to be cleared of soot and the burner has
to be checked for perfect values (to be carried out by an expert only).
3. In regular intervals, check the holes on the gas distributor for clogging, and if required use a
suitable tool for cleaning.
4. Check that the burner inlet and return pipes and the pipes through which the combustion products
are ejected are not clogged or throttled.
5. The correct performance of the electric connections of the burner and of the gas train has to be
checked.
6. Check whether the gas train is suitable for the potential of the burner, the type of gas used and
the gas pressure of the gas network.
7. Check the correct position of the flame head and its attachment to the boiler.
8. Check the correct position of the air valve.
9. Check the correct position of the ionisation sensor and of the electrode.
10. Check the setting of the air and gas pressure monitor.
11. Run the burner at full capacity for about ten minutes, and correctly set all elements mentioned in
the burner instructions available.
12. The use of approved original spare parts of HEYLO / Riello is permissible only.
13. After every maintenance, a renewed initial operation of the device is required (cf. point (5)).
Then carry out a combustion analysis with check of:
(see also Burner head setting - chapter 12.1 / 12.2):
CO2 share (per cent);
CO content (ppm);
Ionisation current (µA).
Temperature of the exhaust air to the chimney.
Three openings have been provided to permit the heat exchanger of K 120 Gas to be cleaned. One is
located at the exhaust gas socket which can be opened when the hood has been removed and the
flange screw connection has been opened. The second and third cleaning opening is located on the
outlet and suction side of the heat exchanger. For this purpose remove the maintenance cover.
