After fitting please ensure that there is enough space between
the chain and the vehicle with the wheels in all positions.
Do not over tension the chain. Generally, forestry chains are
run loosely to support the self cleaning properties of the chain.
Shortening
Each pewag forestry chain has several shortening and
extension possibilities to enable it to adapt perfectly to the wear
of the tyre.
Undo the shackles on the side chains and shorten the
chain symmetrically as required. Attach the shackles and

tighten with a wrench.

Cut out the cross parts in the tread net where the shackles

are located in the side chains. Do not cut the rings!
Connect the tread net with the connecting locks. Drive
the securing pin fully in to the connecting lock using a

hammer.
