Updating recovery partition
The system and the recovery partition (HDI) of DCU 220
can be updated manually to rectify errors that occur.
For this purpose, an up-to-date system image is made
available regularly. A bootable hard drive must be used
to carry out the installation.
i
The updating process should be carried out, if errors
that can be rectified with a new image occur in the
installed system.
i
The update of the recovery partition (HDI) is manda-
torily linked with a subsequent restoration (recove-
ry).
4.3.1
Creating bootable hard disk
i
A bootable medium is used to start files without a
functioning operating system.
!
The current version of the Disk Boot Maker must
always be used.
!
During the creation process all the existing data on
the hard disk will be deleted. Required data must be
backed up beforehand.
1. Open the download portal DCU 220 via:
http://cdn.esitronic.de/TED/DCU220/Recovery_DCU220.html
2. Download the software "Disk Boot Maker G3".
3. Download the zip archive "Bootable Source G3".
4. Unzip the "BootableSource_G3.zip" to a location
with sufficient free storage space (e. g. Desktop).
!
Recovery of DCU 220 G3 with Windows 10 is possi-
ble only with a hard drive rated at 64 GB minimum.
Recovery using a USB stick is not possible
5. Connect the hard disk.
6. Double-click the software "DCU220G3_External-
DiskBootMakerVx.xx.exe" to start it.
7. Select the corresponding hard disk under STEP1.

8. In STEP2, specify the path to the "G3Bootable Sour-
ce folder".
i
If the executable file and the "G3Bootable Source
folder" are in the same directory, the software will
automatically select the correct path.
9. Select <Build> to start the process.
 If the process is completed, the message "Deplo-
ying successfully" appears.
10. Select <Exit> to exit the software.
"
The hard disk is now transferred into a bootable hard
disk.
!
The hard disk is now bootable, but it does not yet
contain any image and therefore no system data. In
this state, the hard disk is not suitable for installati-
on.
