4. Repair

The specific sections describe all disassembly steps.
Assembly must be executed identically in the reverse
sequence - additional steps or steps that deviate
from disassembly are described.
4.1 Tools and aids
4.1.1 Tool
With the tools below you can remove all screws of the
DCU 220.

hard foam or an ESD underlay.
4.2 Checking and replacing components

Only replace components on which DCU 220
does not need to be opened. With the opening of
DCU 220, all warranty claims will be rendered null
and void.
4.2.1 Checking power supply unit and power sup-
ply cable
Power supply cable
1. Disconnect the power supply unit from DCU 220 and
from the power supply.
2. Disconnect power supply cable from the power
supply unit.
3. Check the power supply unit for continuity.

Continuity test failed: Replace power supply cable.

Continuity test passed: Check power supply unit.
Power supply unit
1. Connect power supply unit to power supply unit.
2. Connect the power supply cable to the mains volta-
ge system.
3. Check the supply voltage of the power supply unit at
the jack plug.

Voltage value outside of tolerance (18 V - 20 V):
Replace power supply unit.

4.2.2 Storage battery

Storage batteries are available as spare parts and
can be used in both slots.
Checking storage battery charge status
i
The displayed storage battery charge status is only
an estimated value. The actual operating time can
be different from the estimated time, depending on
how you are using the DCU 220.

The two storage batteries are discharged in parallel.
By operating system:

Read the storage battery charge status by clicking
the storage battery symbol on the Windows com-
mand bar.
By power level gauge:

There is a power level display on the outside of the
storage battery where the charge status can be read
whenever the storage battery is not installed in the
DCU 220.

Press button the indicator.

Display segments light up to indicate the storage bat-
tery charge status.

Each segment represents a battery charge status
of 20 %. The storage battery is fully discharged
when none of the segments are lit.
