General hints

haust air pipeline leading outdoors.
• Recirculation version
The air flow is filtered through an
activated charcoal filter to retain the
odours produced during cooking and
returned to the room.
• If the hood is used in recirculation
version, it is harmless to operate
non-electrical appliances at the
same time.
• For both exhaust air and circulating
air operation, it is recommended
that the appliance is switched on
shortly before cooking and left to
run for 5 to 10 minutes afterwards.
• The grease filter must always be
inserted when the hood is in opera-
tion, otherwise grease residues may
accumulate inside the hood.
• Never use high open flames under
the hood when it is in operation.
Adjust the flame so that it does not
extend beyond the bottom of the
cookware.
• Do not flambé under the range
hood; risk of fire.
• Deep fat fryers must be continuous-
ly monitored during use: overheated
oil can burst into flames.
• This appliance can be only used by
children at the age of 8 years and
above and persons with reduced phy-
sical, sensory or mental capabilities
or lack of experience and knowledge
if they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the
appliance in a safe way and under-
stand the hazards involved.
Children may not be able to play
with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance
must not be carried out by children
without supervision.

1.3 Maintenance

• Failure to carry out cleaning as in-
dicated can result in a fire hazard!
• Switch off or unplug the appliance
from the mains supply before carry-
ing out any maintenance work.
• Clean and/or replace the filters
after the specified time period (Fire
hazard!).
• The grease filters must be clea-
ned or replaced every 2 months of
operation, or more frequently for
particularly heavy usage.
• The activated charcoal filter must
be replaced approximately every
4 months of operation, or more
frequently for particularly heavy
usage.
• Clean the hood using a damp cloth
and a neutral liquid detergent.
