Opening the compression jaws
Proceed as follows to open the jaw:
- Push handles 8 and 9 together and keep together
- Push the release lever 6 down in the direction of the arrow
The jaws are fully open if the plate 3 is flush with the casing
7 (see mark in Fig . 3) .
To align the jaws correctly with the prepared joint (expanded pipe with sleeve
and fittings) the jaws must be fully retracted.
Changing the compression position
Changing the compression jaws from DN 16 and DN 20 or vice
versa is carried out as follows:
Compression jaw 1
(see Fig . 4)
A Lightly press the push button 5 until the compression jaw rotates, release
the push button 5 .
B Rotate the compression jaw 180° until it locks into position automatically .
Compression jaw 2 (see Fig . 4)
Pull compression jaw 2 towards compression jaw 1 up to the
stop (in the direction of the arrow, see A) and hold .
- Whilst holding it against the stop, rotate compression jaw 2 by 180° into the
desired position
- Release compression jaw 2 again .
Ensure that the sizes of both jaws are always matched up, e.g. DN 20 to
DN 20 or DN 16 to DN 16.
