INDICATIONS FOR USE

• The Balance Knee is intended exclusively for lower limb prosthetic
fittings
• Adult amputee up to 125kg (275 lbs)
• Single speed limited community ambulator

Specific instructions regarding Manual Locking Feature
Alignment notice
The Balance Knee joint is delivered already adjusted for ideal locking
position. Care must be taken when adjusting knee stability not to
compromise the function of the locking mechanism.
ALIGNMENT
Bench alignment
• Assemble prosthetic foot, pylon and knee.
• Establish knee centre height, measured from the pivot axis.
• If pylon is cut too short, do not compensate by putting a spacer into
the knee tube adapter. Doing so may compromise strength and voids
the warranty (Figure 2). Use a new Össur pylon cut to correct length
for maximum user safety.
• Tighten tube clamp bolt to 15 Nm (11 ft-lbs)(Figure 3) with a 5mm hex
key. Do not overtighten.
