Planning tips
• Before installation, conduct a local inspec-
tion so that you can plan the best possible
installation. Answer the question: What
must / should be installed where?
• Try to find any sources of interference
and assess the transmission reliability.
(for more on this, see the "Background
Information" section)
• Use the field strength detector
integraed into each Free-Control receiver
(flush-mounted) to determine and assess
radio reception quality before installing
the equipment.
• If you determine based on the display of
the field strength detector that the radio
signal reaching the wireless receiver is
not sufficiently strong, select another
installation location.
• Perform a radio test under practical condi-
tions. (open/closed windows/doors; switch
electrical consumers on/off; etc. ...)
• Only install the desired equipment once a
successful radio test has been made.
• Note that Free-Control wireless receivers
cannot be placed in a parallel circuit with
other traditional switches/buttons.

Recommendation: For complex circuits/ in-
stallations, we recommend simultaneously
replacing the batteries of all wireless trans-
mitters as soon as the battery of the first
component must be replaced due to a "dead
battery".
