Background information on radio
transmission
Free-Control is ideal for use wherever the
subsequent addition of new or expansion of
existing installations is impossible or can only
be accomplished with difficulty. The possible
applications of the Free-Control wireless sys-
tem are therefore very wide-ranging.
However, 100% transmission between the
transmitter and receiver can never be guar-
anteed.
Having said this, appropriate planning can
greatly increase transmission reliability.
The information regarding radio range is
always a free field value and should only be
viewed as a reference.
In practice, it is impossible to make a state-
ment regarding radio range inside buildings, as
this depends greatly on the individual instal-
lation conditions and numerous other factors.
Every object between the transmitter and
receiver contributes to the reduction in trans-
mission range.
The signal reduction or transmission range
depends upon the following, among other
things:
1. the nature of the intervening material
(e.g. wood, masonry, glass, ...)
2. the thickness of the intervening material
(wall thickness)
3. the climatic conditions
(dry environment, rain, snow, ...)
4. existing radio interference (any local radio
towers, in-house wireless routers, ...)
5. any existing radio dead spots (receiver
blocked by areas that cannot be penetra-
ted by radio waves)
The factors listed above can change unex-
pectedly and greatly impact the transmission
range.
