Make sure the Rev / Power-OFF/ Fwd
switch (U, Fig 4) is in OFF position
before you connect the machine to the
power supply.
The Power indication lamp (S, Fig
3) is illuminated when connected.
Use the Rev / Power-OFF/ Fwd switch
(U, Fig 4) to select the spindle rotating
direction and to energize the electrics.
Start the machine with the
Reset-Off/ Speed-control knob (T).
Stop the machine by turning the knob
(T) counter-clockwise until it clics into
Off position.
Fig 4
Disconnect the machine from the
power source if not in use (pull mains
plug).
Gear select knob:
With the gear select knob (N, Fig 2)
two speed ranges can be chosen.
I.....100 – 1000 rpm for high torque
II.....200 – 2000 rpm for high speed
Warning
The gear select knob may not be
operated while the machine is
running.
Failure to comply may lead to damage
of gear and electronic components.
Fuse protection:
The fuse (Q, Fig 4) protects the motor
and electronic parts.
The fuse may only be changed when
the machine is disconnected from
power source (pull mains plug).
Fault lamp:
The fault lamp (R, Fig 4) indicates
motor "overload" or "not ready"
condition.
6. Machine operation
Warning:
Setup work may only be carried out
after the machine is protected
against accidental starting.
With pressed emergency stop
button.
Never place your fingers in a position
where they could contact any rotating
tool, chuck or cutting chips.
Remove cutting chips with the aid of
an appropriate chip hook when the
machine is at a standstill only.
Never stop the rotating chuck or tool
with your hands.
Never work without chuck guard.
Secure work piece to the table with
clamps or a vice to prevent rotating
with the drill bit.
When using a vice, always fasten it to
the table.
Check the save clamping of the work
piece, chuck and tools before starting
the machine.
Never do any works "freehand" (hand-
holding the work piece rather than
supporting it on the table).
Support long work pieces with helping
roller stands.
Feed a drill bit into the material with
only enough force to allow the drill bit
to work.
Feeding too slowly may cause burning
of the work piece or tool. Feeding too
quickly may cause the motor to stop
and/or the drill bit to break.
Do not use wire wheels or grinding
wheels on this machine.
Never cut magnesium-
high danger to fire!
Measurements and adjustments may
be carried out when the machine is at
a standstill only.
6.1 Spindle speeds selection
The correct spindle speed depends on
the type of machining, the cutting
diameter, the material to be machined
and the cutting tool.
These are recommended max. speeds
for a 10mm high speed steel (HSS)
tool (e.g. drill bit).
Aluminium, brass
Cast iron
6
Mild steel
High carbon steel
Stainless steel
If a carbide (HM) tool is used about 5
times higher speeds can be chosen.
Generally speaking:
the larger in relation the cutting
diameter, the smaller the possible
RPM.
For example:
Milling mild steel with an end mill of
20mm allows a speed of:
400 RPM max.
2000 RPM max.
Note:
Choose a low speed for tapping.
7. Setup and adjustments
Warning:
Setup and adjustment work may
only be carried out after the
machine is protected against
accidental starting.
Disconnect from the power source!
7.1 Arbour replacement
Remove the draw bar cover (K, Fig 1).
Loosen the draw bar.
Loosen the drawbar 2 to max 3 full
turns.
Tap the drawbar head with a rubber
mallet to dislodge the tool taper.
7.2 Engaging the Fine Feed Wheel
To activate the fine feed hand wheel
(J, Fig 1) press the ON/OFF-knob (O,
Fig 2).
7.3 Tilting the column
To tilt the vertical column loosen the
hex socket bolts (D, Fig 1).
The column can be tilted 45° to the
left and 45° to the right.
1500 RPM
1000 RPM
800 RPM
600 RPM
300 RPM
with HSS tool
with carbide tool
