SERVICING AND COMPONENT REPLACEMENT
Piston Cylinder and Cup Seal
Replacement
1. Remove compressor (refer to compressor
replacement instructions).
2. Remove piston cylinder by pulling it outward to
disengage it from piston.

3. Using a T-20 Torx bit, remove the screw holding the
retaining cap on top of piston. Then remove the
retaining cap and cup seal.
4. Place new cup seal on top of piston and secure with
retaining cap and screw. NOTE– cup seal should be
inverted.
5. Install new cylinder (includes 2 umbrella valves) on
top of piston. Insure that locating ridges on side of
cylinder are engaged in slots in compressor housing.

6. Reinstall compressor and other components in
reverse order.
7. Replace bottom cover and secure with Torx screws.
