Speaker Output
Connect external book shelf or flush ceiling loudspeakers to the Speaker Output terminals.
Mic In
The Mic In connector is used for plugging in a dynamic microphone. The Mic input knob on the
front panel is used to adapt the mixer for use with different microphones.
Aux In
Media players such as DVD, CD or MP3 may be connected to the Aux In connectors. The aux in
knob on the front panel is used to adapt the mixer for use with different music players. The
Aux In may also be connected to the output of a mixing console.
Rec/Line Out
This output may be used to feed a recording device in order to record the same sound heard
coming out of the mixer. The line output may also be used to feed another mixer in another
zone.
Mute
The mute terminal allows the mixer to be interfaced to a remote muting control (dry contact
closure) from a fire alarm panel. Shorting the terminals allows audio to pass. An open circuit
on this terminal causes audio to mute.
Ext DC +/-
When an AC electrical outlet is not available, the mixer may be powered with an external 12 V
DC connection to this terminal. 10 Amps are required to operate the unit.
Upper In
When installing the optional CD player or the wireless microphone receiver into the option
slots, use the included jumper cable to connect the Upper slot In connector to the DC input and
audio out of the device being installed.
Lower In
When installing the optional CD player or the wireless microphone receiver into the option
slots, use the included jumper cable to connect the Lower slot In connector to the DC input and
audio out of the device being installed.

■ Connecting the Loudspeaker

Any low impedance speaker may be used. Up to quantity (4) 16-Ohm speakers may be wired in parallel to each the
Left and Right terminals. A mono sum of all four input channels is fed to both the L and R outputs by the mixer.
When using 16 Ohm loudspeakers, parallel at least two together on the same channel before using the second
channel to ensure maximum output from the power amplifier.
When using 4 or 8 loudspeakers, connect the same number of loudspeaker to each the Left and Right output
channels.
Total Loudspeakers
8 x 16-Ohm loudspeakers
4 x 16-Ohm loudspeakers
2 x 16-Ohm loudspeakers
4 x 8-Ohm loudspeakers
2 x 8-Ohm loudspeakers
2 x 4-Ohm loudspeakers

■ Connecting a Wired Microphone

Any microphone that does not require phantom power may be used with the CAS 100 microphone input. Possible
microphones choices include popular and rugged dynamic microphones (i.e. evolution sereis) or condenser
microphones with integrated phantom power packs. Turn the Master Volume to the second line on the dial. Attach
the microphone to the input labelled Mic. In. Speak into the microphone and turn up the input knob on the front
panel until the red Input Overload light begins to flash. Turn the volume back down until the light stops flashing
and then turn it down one line more. Turn up the Master Volume until the sound is loud enough. When a squeeling
or whistling sound is heard immediately turn the Master Volume all the way down and slowly turn it back up.
