5. APPENDIX

5.1 Country code

The country code must be entered in order to refer to a standard insulation
thickness used in a particular country. The lower the insulation thickness,
the greater the heat loss and, as a result, the higher the power consumption.
Two groups of countries depending on insulation thickness:

5.2 Pipe Size, Insulation and Temperature

Pipe size and insulation characteristics have a considerable influence on
the temperatures achieved by the HWAT-ECO and the self-regulating tapes.
Increasing insulation thickness, better insulating materials and/or smaller
pipe sizes generally results in higher temperatures as the heat losses
decrease. Decreasing insulation thickness, less insulating materials or bigger
