Care of chains
Following the use of the chains, make sure that they are dried rapidly. Mud and dirt-
covered chains should be rinsed in hot water and then dried. Badly used chains should
be re-galvanized.
Adjustment:
When the tires are worn, the fit of the chains can be improved by shortening the insi-
de chain. Distribute shortening places regularly – after shortening the various inside
chain sections should have the same length, if possible.
Repair
a) hardened repair ring
b) 2 hardened repair rings +
hardened chain piece
Regular inspection of condition: Turn the chains when one side of the links is worn down
by 1/3 of the wire diameter. Exception: Chains with welded wear studs.
