TIp: Cutti ng on cardstock and other heavy materials will reduce the life of your blade,
but it will produce the best cuts.
TIp: If the Cricut Expression 2 machine produces poor cutti ng results, always insert a
new blade fi rst before trying other opti ons.
Adjusti ng Cut Speed

the Cut Speed butt on allows you to control the cutti ng speed for an opti mal cut on a
variety of papers. If you regularly cut simple shapes, you may want to adjust this setti ng
up to increase the cutti ng speed. For lightweight materials or for smaller, more detailed
cuts, you may want to turn the setti ng down to decrease the cutti ng speed. Aft er each
adjustment, you should test the setti ng with a scrap piece of paper, readjusti ng as
necessary unti l you achieve the desired results.
the current cut speed is displayed in the middle secti on of the Cut Speed popup box. You
can change the value by pressing the Increase and Decrease butt ons and then pressing
the save butt on. As a general rule, decrease the cutti ng speed if your cuts are being
torn. If this doesn't work, you may need to change the cut pressure, adjust the blade
depth, or replace the blade.

against the paper. For heavyweight materials, you may want to move the setti ng up to
increase the cut pressure. For lightweight materials, you may want to change the setti ng
down to decrease the pressure. Aft er each adjustment, you should test the setti ng with
a scrap piece of paper, readjusti ng as necessary unti l you achieve the desired results.
