- Slowly open the shut-off valve at the con-
densate inlet and, if necessary, that of the
vent line to build up operating pressure in
the condensate drain.
- Check for leaks during initial operation.
Operation
Caution!
Power must be permanently supplied
to the ED4100/50 to ensure trouble-
free operation. The condensate drain
triggers an alarm when the power
supply is interrupted.
Commissioning
Caution!
Never place a damaged condensate
drain into operation.
After being installed correctly, the
ED4100/50 condensate drain can be placed
into operation.
All connections must be checked for leaks
during initial operation.
To place the condensate drain into opera-
tion:
- Power the unit.
- Slowly open the shut-off valve at the con-
densate inlet and, if necessary, that of the
vent line to build up operating pressure in
the condensate drain.
- Check all connections for leaks.
- Press the TEST button (Fig. 4, 4d) on the
control panel to check valve operation.
- Make sure that the condensate can flow in
and out unhindered.
Monitoring of the Operation
The condensate drain is a fully automated
device. Operation is monitored by three LEDs
on the ED4100/50 control panel (Fig. 4).

Shutting down
Proceed as follows if the condensate
drain needs to be disconnected from the
compressed air supply for maintenance
purposes or for any other reason:
- Close the shut-off valve at the condensate
inlet and the vent line if necessary.
- Depressurise the condensate drain by
pressing and holding he TEST button until
all the condensate drains off and a flow
sound can no longer be heard.
- Unplug the power connector and, if
necessary, the alarm connector including
seals from the ED4100/50.
Maintenance
Danger!
Suddenly escaping compressed
air.
There is a very considerable risk of personal
injury, when carrying out work on the
pressurised condensate drain. Suddenly
escaping compressed air might cause
serious injuries.
• Prior to any work, release all pressure
from the unit.
Caution!
All maintenance work must be
completed by suitably qualified and
authorised specialist personnel.
The condensate drain should be regularly
(weekly) checked for external damage and
leaks. Operation of the condensate drain
can also be checked. Valve operation
and unhindered condensate flow can be
checked manually by pressing the TEST
button.
Depending on the level of impurities in the
condensate, the dirt trap (Fig. 9) and valve
seat should be cleaned as required or at
least once a year.
