2. Open Hook-and-Loop Closures

Open all four straps of the orthosis and
place the patient's leg inside the orthosis.
Make sure that, when viewed from the
side, the center of the hinge is aligned
with the center of the knee. If necessary,
adjust the orthosis again before closing
the hook-and-loop fasteners (fig.3).
We recommend closing the hook-and-loop
straps in the following order: Start with
the two straps above and below the knee.
Then close the proximal/distal strap of
the orthosis. Two additional straps are
included with each brace. These can be
used as proximal/distal straps in case you
shorten the orthosis by removing the
top and bottom end parts (see section 3:
"Adjusting the Length of the Orthosis").

Adjust the length of the telescopic uprights
according to the patient's leg (fig. 4).

It is also possible to shorten the orthosis
on the whole, by removing the end parts
of the brace. To do so, push the release
button and completely pull off the end
part of the brace (fig. 5).
4. Closing the Orthosis
Now close the hook-and-loop fasteners.
Start with the fasteners directly above
and below the knee joint, then continue
with the rest of the closures. Depending
on the circumference of the patient's leg,
the hook-and-loop straps may be too
long. If necessary, they can be shortened
with a pair of scissors. With the additional
„Q-lock" system the appropriate range of
motion can be secured twofold.
5. Opening the Orthosis
From now on, only open the hook-and-lo-
op fasteners to open the orthosis.
